BROW LAMINATION FAQ

What is Brow Lamination?

Brow Lamination is a semipermanent, noninvasive procedure that temporarily adjusts the direction of the natural brow pattern for a fuller and fluffier stylistic appearance.

How does Brow Lamination work?

Brow Lamination is done in several steps, including styling the hair in the desired direction, laminating them with gentle solutions, and treating the hair with a hydrating formula.

How does Brow Lamination differ from Microblading?

Brow Lamination is a noninvasive procedure and a great temporary alternative to creating thicker and fuller-looking brows. By controlling the flow of hair growth, you can cover more surface area for a fuller appearance. Coupling the two is a match made in heaven!

Can I get Brow Lamination and Microblading done on the same day?

Due to conflicting natures of the aftercare processes, the two procedures must be done on separate days. We recommend receiving the Brow Lamination either a few days before or 6-8 following your Microblading.

Will Brow Lamination affect my existing Microblading?

As long as the Microblading has gone through its entire healing process(6-8 weeks), it will not affect the strokes.

Does Brow Lamination affect the color of my brows?

It does not! It can be coupled with a brow tint for a darker appearance.

Does Brow Lamination hurt?

Not at all! There is no discomfort associated with the procedure.

How long does Brow Lamination take?

Brow Lamination takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

What happens after Brow Lamination - is there downtime?

After the procedure has concluded, we recommend not wetting and not partaking in any activities that cause excessive sweating for 24 hours.

How much does Brow Lamination cost?

The cost of the procedure is $79

How often will I need to come back for Brow Lamination?

The growth cycle of eyebrow hair is typically 90 days. We recommend receiving the treatment every 2-3 months to ensure we keep the integrity of the hair.

Do different skin types react differently to Brow Lamination?

This service is excellent for all skin types! Oilier-skinned clients may see a slight decrease in shelf life due to the excess oil production in the skin.

How long does Brow Lamination last?

Approximately 1-2 weeks if proper care is taken during the 24 hours post-procedure. Premature exposure to water, sweat, and steam can prevent hair from processing correctly.

Henna / Tinting

Henna, a brand of eyebrow henna, is primarily its natural, plant-based ingredients, offering benefits like long-lasting color on the brows without harsh chemicals, making it suitable for most skin types; however, potential side effects include mild skin irritation, allergic reactions (rare), and possible staining on the skin if not applied correctly, especially for those with sensitive skin.

Benefits of Henna / Tinting Products used in-office:

  • Natural ingredients:

It primarily comprises plant-based ingredients like Cassia Obovata leaf powder, aloe vera, and jojoba oil, considered gentler on the skin than chemical dyes.

  • Long-lasting color:

It provides a semi-permanent tint lasting several weeks on brow hairs, offering a longer-lasting alternative to traditional eyebrow pencils.

  • Fuller appearance:

It can fill in sparse areas of the brows, creating a fuller and more defined look.

  • Minimal maintenance:

Reduces the need for daily brow pencil application.

  • Suitable for sensitive skin:

When used correctly and with a patch test, Henna / Tinting is generally considered safe for most skin types, including sensitive skin.

Potential side effects of Henna / Tinting:

  • Skin irritation:

Mild redness, itching, or discomfort around the brow area, especially if the skin is sensitive.

  • Allergic reaction:

Though rare, some individuals may experience an allergic reaction to the henna ingredients, causing noticeable redness, swelling, or even blistering.

  • Staining on skin:

If not applied carefully, the henna may stain the skin temporarily, particularly around the brow area.

  • Color variations:

Depending on the application and individual skin tone, the final color of the henna may vary slightly.

  • Important points to remember:

  • Some will require a patch test before the procedure. Perform a small skin patch test to check for any allergic reactions. LIST IS DOWN BELOW

  • Professional application: Consider getting your henna brows done by a trained professional for the best results.

  • Aftercare instructions: Follow the recommended aftercare guidelines to maintain the color and minimize potential irritation.

You should avoid getting henna / Tinting for a few weeks after microneedling because the SKIN is sensitive, and chemical treatments can damage new hair. You should also avoid other chemical treatments like hair coloring and perming.

Explanation

After microneedling, your skin is more sensitive and needs time to heal. Chemical treatments can irritate the skin and slow down the healing process.

Other aftercare tips

  • Avoid wearing makeup, cleansers, toners, and exfoliants for at least 24–48 hours

  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least 48 hours

  • Avoid strenuous activity, saunas, and hot showers for at least 48 hours

  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean for at least 48 hours

  • Avoid products that contain retinol, glycolic or salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, bleaching creams, or hydroquinone

  • Avoid plucking or waxing the area for at least one week

  • Avoid using bleach or "Nair"-type products for at least two weeks

  • Sleep on your back with your head elevated to reduce swelling

  • ** You should wait at least two weeks for henna / tinting brows. Microneedling and other intense facial treatments can make the skin more sensitive, increasing the risk of henna irritation. Note: Intense facial treatments include chemical peels, facials with active ingredients, etc. Clients are responsible for reading all contraindications and disclosing any allergens to products or having previous treatments.
